  • Overview

    The Connectivity Engineer will perform engineering services to enable all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, of existing networks, and identification/correction of complex internetwork issues and/or network control.



    • Resolve complex network problems, and operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators.
    • Perform site surveys, system installations, configuration management, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment of a global Enterprise Network.
    • Perform connectivity engineering services to pre and post deployment tests.
    • Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT).
    • Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput.
    • Validate new and existing dataflow and data formats.
    • Lead large efforts of dynamic requirements and scale.
    • Work with System Engineers, customers, and cross organizational teams to refine requirements.
    • Coordinate with appropriate dataflow organizations and end-customer recipients, follow-on data repositories and tasking organizations and understand potential adverse impacts on system-wide dataflow.
    • Perform security testing and design evaluations.
    • Employ Government standards to configure the interconnects between data centers, networks and security boundaries.
    • Draft technical requirements, configuration management, and planning documentation.
    • Perform support to QC, QA, and CM services.
    • Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test and maintain numerous types of network devices, interfaces and technologies to include VPN, VRF, VSS, BGP and OSPF routing, and VLAN.
    • Optimize end-to-end system performance (capacity, margins, data quality etc.) and dataflow management.
    • Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
    • Coordinate with the system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations with minimal down time.
    • Facilitate the implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN and LAN design.



    • U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance w/ Full Scope with the ability to maintain this level clearance. 
    • 12 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university; or 4 years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Certifications:
      • IAT level III baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M; IAT II will be accepted (Security + CE, GSEC, or SSCP) if the candidate obtains an IAT level III (CISA, CISSP, CASP, GCIH, or GCED) within 1 year of contract award and provides expected date for completion
      • CCNP certification or higher
      • ITIL ® V3 Foundations
    • Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving and programming skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.

    Valued but not required skills and experience:


    • 12 years of experience in Networking (WAN/CAN/DCN/NETSEC).
    • 7 years of experience in operations and maintenance of an IC secure WAN.
    • Experience in operations and maintenance of routed LAN/CAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN networks.
    • 3 years of experience operating and maintaining service provider MPLS WANs.
    • 3 years of experience troubleshooting IC network issues.
    • 1 year of experience operating and maintaining external (1P, 2P) boundaries (peering points), Data Transport (store and forward) systems, DOD Formal Messaging systems (i.e. AMHS) - to include an understanding and experience with LINUX operating systems, Domain Name Service (DNS) – to include operation, configuration and sustainment.
