    The Telecommunications Network Engineer III will enable all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, sustainment of existing networks, to include identification/correction of all complex internetwork issues.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical direction for the development of engineering, interfacing and integration of specific components of complex hardware/software systems. This includes the analysis and functional allocation of conducting systems requirement reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standard.
    • Assist in site surveys, system installations, configuration management, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment of a global Enterprise Network.
    • Implement and sustain Wide Area Networks (WANs), wired and wireless Campus Area Networks (CANs), Data Center Networks/Interfaces (DCN/DCI), Network Security (NETSEC), and Tactical/Deployable Networking Systems.
    • Analyze design, specifications, and related documents. Implement communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a networked enterprise environment.
    • Assist in implementing specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, and Network Address Translation (NAT) where appropriate.
    • Resolve routine network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Perform quality control and quality assurance services.
    • Perform site surveys, system installations, configuration management, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment of a global Enterprise Network.
    • Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, and Network Address Translation (NAT) where appropriate.
    • Work with System engineers, customers, and cross organizational teams to refine requirements.
    • Coordinate with appropriate dataflow organizations and end-customer recipients, follow-on data repositories and tasking organizations, and understand potential adverse impacts on system wide dataflow.
    • Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and maintain numerous types of network devices, interfaces, and technologies to include VPN, VRF, VSS, BGP and OSPF routing or other routing protocols as required, and VLAN
    • Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
    • Facilitate the implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN and LAN design.
    • Lead large efforts of dynamic requirements and scale.
    • Employ government standards to configure the interconnects between data centers, networks, and security boundaries.

    Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government issued Top Secret w/Full Scope Poly clearance and the ability to maintain this level clearance.
    • 12 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
    • 5 years of technical experience in the field of satellite communications and network engineering.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university; or 4 years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
    • IAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M.
    • CCIE certification
