    The IP Engineer, Implementation is responsible for the implementation of new projects into the production network, as designed by the Engineering team. He or she will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls and other networking equipment. In addition, IP Network Implementation Engineer will perform subsequent configuration changes to the production network, including the performance of hardware and software upgrades, system integrations, vendor-based solutions, and other data center optimizations.


    • Perform the installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls and other networking devices.
    • Ensure that new implemented solutions and configuration changes comply with the corporate security policies.
    • Provide training and documentations to ensure a smooth hand-off of implemented projects to the IP Operations team.
    • Create and maintain accurate network documentations and diagrams.
    • Troubleshoot and repair network related problems.
    • Provide internal and external customer support, with the ability to successfully troubleshoot level 2 and level 3 network issues.
    • Resolve internal and external customer trouble tickets within Remedy.
    • Provide network operations support in a 24x7 environment, as needed.
    • Communicate and interact with IP network team members and NOC personnel in other Globecomm offices and locations to ensure proper coordination and cross-training.
    • Recommend new processes, procedures, equipment, and software.


    • U.S. Citizen with the abilitiy to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
    • 2-5 years of industry related experience.
    • CCNP certification.
    • Advanced knowledge and working experience with Cisco and/or Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Strength in the operation of static routing and dynamic routing protocols, such as RIPv1, RIPv2, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP.
    • Advanced knowledge and working experience with IP Telephony, VoIP, and IP Video Teleconference equipment.
    • Working experience with VPN and IPsec technologies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with external and internal customers.
    • Strong network troubleshooting skills and the ability to confidently work independently and within a team environment.
    • Experience with MS Office and Visio. 

    Valued but not required skills and experience:

    • UNIX, Linux, and Windows server administration.
    • Knowledge of iDirect and/or Vipersat systems.
