    The Infrastructure Engineer is charged with the implementation, testing, maintenance, and support of Globecomm’s Teleport RF Systems.  With scope and RF system design guidance from the Senior Infrastructure Engineer and Principal Engineer, this role will provide system installation, configuration, testing and documentation to achieve deliverable commitments.  A successful candidate will possess the ability to combine subject-matter expertise and initiative, to proactively complete and document the integration and maintenance efforts required to safely meet customer service level commitments and support expectations.


    • Assemble, test, and/or modify RF, electrical and/or mechanical components, assemblies and systems.
    • Apply technical knowledge to aid in the design of teleport systems. Propose solutions to design challenges and implement work-arounds during outage situations to restore services.
    • Interpret component and assembly design drawings and provide assistance in generating design, assembly and test documentation as needed.
    • Mechanical responsibilities include mechanisms, structures, vacuum systems, pressure systems, fluid containment systems, optical equipment, measurement equipment, fabrication equipment, and some automated equipment, tooling and fixturing.
    • Electrical responsibilities may include installation and understanding of analog, digital, and RF circuitry.


    • Associates degree in an engineering or telecommunications based program plus at least 6 years of experience in a related industry and responsibility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of operation and installation of satellite communications equipment and systems to include VSAT and earth station antenna, modems, amplifiers, frequency converters and associated test equipment.
    • Must be able to work from engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions and have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
    • Experience with proper use of hand and power tools, ability to operate lifting and construction equipment with attachments, experience with concrete and other construction materials with a basic understanding of plumbing principles.
    • Functional experience with computer systems and experience using Excel, Word, and Visio.
    • Certified forklift and manlift operator or capable of obtaining a certification.
    • Must be willing to carry a company phone and be available 24/7 for teleport technical emergency support.
    • Must be willing and able to travel less than 5%.
